Family Practice Medical Doctor
Dr. Vogt earned a bachelor of science degree in Astronautical Engineering from the US Air Force (USAF) Academy.
After serving as an active duty Air Force engineer in California, he attended the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland where he earned his M.D. After a three year residency in Family Practice (FP) at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, Dr. Vogt served as a USAF family physician in Turkey, Florida, Colorado and Wyoming. His jobs ranged from clinic physician, clinic chief, FP residency faculty, and medical staff chief.
Retiring from the Air Force in 2003, Dr. Vogt worked for Docs Who Care, Memorial Urgent/Afterhours Clinic and the Community Health Center while establishing The Family Practice in 2004.

Family Practice Medical Doctor
Dr. Rogers earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Northern Colorado, his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, and his Masters in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston, Texas. After completing Family Medicine Residency at Andrews Air Force Base, he served as staff family physician at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. Dr Rogers then became a USAF Flight Surgeon and served at RAF Mildenhall (England), North Carolina, and Texas where he completed the Residency in Aerospace Medicine. He retired from the USAF in 2016 from his final assignment at the USAF Academy.
He and his spouse, Heila Rogers, have two adult children, both in college at CU Boulder. As a family, they enjoy reading, traveling, touring museums, and adventuring in the outdoors (skiing, SCUBA, shooting sports). He enjoys Bible study, apologetics, and teaching personal financial planning.
Family Practice Medical Doctor
Dr. Jewell received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Occidental College, Los Angeles and her Doctor of Medicine degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1979. She has practiced family medicine in Colorado Springs for 23 years. She previously worked for the University of Wyoming Family Practice Residency, Casper and the United States Air Force. She has special interest in diabetes, metabolic syndrome, menopause and women’s health issues.
Her husband of 38 years is Dr. Gary Jewell. They have 2 adult daughters who are married, along with 2 granddaughters and a grandson. She enjoys spending time with other women studying the Bible and mentoring. In her spare time, Dr. Jewell can be found on the ski slopes, the Crossfit box, her favorite jogging/ biking path or knitting.
Darragh (pronounced like “Sarah” with D) Gott is a ANCC board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She did her undergrad studies in Psychology and Nursing at Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL. She earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, TN, in 1997. She has been a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) through the National Certification Board of Certified Diabetes Educators since 2000. She has worked in both family practice and endocrinology in the past. As a provider, she takes special joy in helping people optimize their health and prevent disease; she is co-creator and regular instructor in our practice’s wellness program.
Raised in Colorado, she returned here from Tennessee in 2006 and joined The Family Practice in 2008. She takes her own wellness very seriously and enjoys cooking gourmet healthy food, as well as exercising regularly in the outdoors. For fun, she loves to read, do crafts (knitting, drawing, sewing), teach Bible studies and make memories with her husband and two daughters.
Lisa was raised in Youngstown, Ohio and received her BSN from Kent State University in Ohio. As a Registered Nurse, she worked in a variety of settings including Med/ Surgical and Neonatal Intensive Care. In 2005, Lisa graduated from UCCS with a Master’s of Science in Nursing and became a nationally certified Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Lisa has worked both in asthma and allergy specialty and in family practice. When working with patients, she likes to combine a plan of care with supportive measures and up to date recommendations, developing goals with her patients to improve health. Lisa loves living in Colorado with her family and considers Colorado her home.
Paul Safford is a Physician Assistant who has been practicing in Colorado Springs since 1999. Prior to becoming a PA, he worked as a paramedic in the Springs from 1980 to 1996. He considers himself a semi-native of Colorado. He obtained his Bachelors degree at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, in Biology and Philosophy. After that, he earned his Masters degree through the University of Nebraska department of Allied Health. He has worked in Family Practice, Urgent Care, and Internal Medicine. He is comfortable caring for patients from ages 0 to 100. Paul has always realized that while he can care for patients, God is the who provides the healing. He firmly believes that patient care is a team effort and the patient must be actively involved in the the decision making process.
He has an interest in travel. He has visited all 50 states and in 1994 he rode his bicycle across the United States. He has been to Western Europe and hopes the next destination will be in South America or Australia.
Dr. Phillips is a licensed psychologist specializing in anxiety, trauma, and medical life issues (pain management, cancer, sleep issues, TMJ, etc.). He has over 20 years of experience as a therapist, holds two masters degrees from Abilene Christian University, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His experience also includes prior service as an active duty psychologist in the US Air Force and currently serves a broad spectrum of active duty and civilian clients.
In addition to being an established counseling health psychologist, he has presented at numerous national conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of diabetes management, career stress, pain management, cancer psychology, trauma, and many other topics.
Dr. Phillips is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. His therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. He integrates scientifically grounded methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, Dr. Phillips works with individuals to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
