Dr.
Orr is a Clinical Health Psychologist with specialty training who
works as part of your medical team. This team approach allows us
to consider physical, behavioral, and emotional aspects of your
health. For example: Dr. Orr can help reduce symptoms associated
with various chronic medical conditions or help you cope better
with these conditions. These include: chronic insomnia, migraine
and tension headaches, fibromyalgia, diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension,
irritable bowel syndrome, and more.
He
can help develop plans for behavioral change programs, such as smoking
cessation, weight loss, alcohol use, exercise or other lifestyle
modifications.
Dr.
Orr can also help with family or relationship difficulties, excess
stress, bereavement, depression, anxiety, or anger problems.

You
can expect to be asked specific questions about your physical symptoms,
any emotional concerns you are experiencing, your behaviors, and
how all of these might be related.
As
with all health care providers, communications with Dr. Orr are
confidential to the extent of law. Every effort will be made to
protect your privacy, except in those cases which you are a danger
to self or others, or are gravely disabled.
Your
appointments will vary in length from 30 minutes to one hour. Dr.
Orr will help identify and provide brief solution-focused interventions.
You can also expect to be seen by your PCM and for the Dr. Orr to
have a close working relationship with your provider.
Remember:
Your provider remains in charge of your health care - the BHC's
primary job is to help you and your provider develop and implement
the best integrated health care plan for YOU!
